Multi-sector Investment Group (MIG) owner of the newly established tea factory in Nyamagabe District has said Mushubi Tea Factory will start activities on 15th April, 2013.
MIG invested in tea processing following complaints from tea farmers that needed a tea factory in the area to cut on the loses incurred in transportation.
Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi promised the factory that government through its institutions EWSA and RTDA (Rwanda Transport Development Agency) will provide infrastructure facilities like roads and electricity heading to the factory.
The factory has a production capacity of between 86 to 100 tons per day but will start at 20 tons per day.
Around 300 people are expected to benefit from employment at Mushubi Tea Factory.
