Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) has donated 1000 chicken to vulnerable families recently relocated to Rubavu pending conservation activities.

According to Dr. Rose Mukankomeje, the chicken will help families fight malnutrition and contribute socio economic transformation of the families.

Rubavu District has registered some tremendous achievements in Environmental protection including control of soil erosion, tree plantation and relocation of families formerly residing on Rubavu Mountain.

The mountain area is being rehabilitated to promote ecotourism.
