The newly appointed Northern Province governor, Musabyimana Jean Claude and his team have been asked to promote interests of citizens and protect them.
The call was made yesterday by the Minister of Local Government, Francis Kaboneka as the former Northern Province Governor; Bosenibamwe Aimé handed over office to Musabyimana Jean Claude in Musanze district yesterday.
Kaboneka has cited achievements of Northern Province including roads, hotels, schools and health centers but tasked them to fight against poor hygiene existing in the province.
“There are many improvements in this province but we cannot leave behind the request of completely eradicating poor hygiene ,” he said.
He asked leaders to be committed on serving citizens, taking an example of president Paul Kagame.
Musabyimana Jean Claude who was recently appointed governor of Northern Province has been the mayor of Musanze district.
Bosenibamwe Aimé has served as governor of Northern Province for more than seven years after replacing Rucagu Boniface who was appointed to chair Itorero National Commission.
“I voice my appreciation to president of the Republic Paul Kagame who has confidence in me and giving me the opportunity to serve. I am ready to keep working for my nation,” he said.
