Rwanda Air received yesterday the new biggest airplane, Airbus 330-300, named Umurage (Heritage) and will enable Rwanda Air to enter Europe and US aviation markets.
The airplane which arrived yesterday around 16:40 hours at Kanombe International Airport has 274 seats.
Rwanda Air management says the company which manufactured the Airbus exhibited it on Wednesday in Toulouse, France. The airbus is the biggest airplane owned by Rwanda and the third received within three months.
The Airbus brings the number of aircraft owned by Rwanda Air to 11.
Rwanda Air recently received Boeing 737-800, Next Generation (Kalisimbi) the first of its kind in Africa which was followed by another Airbus 330-200 in September 2016.
RwandaAir has 19 flight destinations including; Cotonou in Benin, Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Nairobi, Entebbe, Mombasa, Bujumbura, Lusaka, Juba, Douala, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Johannesburg, Dubai, Lagos, Libreville and Brazzaville.
It is planning to launch flights in Harare, Zimbabwe and in India.
