CAR President, HE Faustin Archange Touadera has hailed Rwanda peacekeepers for their contribution in his country’s development. He made the comment while officiating the Central African National Tree Day.
The Tree Day was celebrated on 20 August 2016 in Bangui, the CAR capital city, whereby a big number of Bangui residents, joined by Rwanda peacekeepers under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), planted trees at the GBAZABANGUI reserve forest.
In his speech soon after planting a tree, HE Touadera thanked Bangui residents to have participated in this event. The CAR president also thanked Rwanda Peacekeepers for their commitment and willingness to contribute in CAR’s development.
“I appreciate also Rwanda peacekeepers’ commitment and kind of willingness while contributing to our country’s development", said President Touadera.
Rwanda peacekeepers (Rwanbatt3) are among the UN peacekeepers that are in CAR for peacekeeping mission. Some of the Rwanbatt3 tasks include providing security to HE the President of CAR, the office of the president and the presidential palace. They also provide security to key installations in Bangui City.
