The Eastern Province has trained 30 demobilized soldiers to perform artificial insemination of cattle in the Eastern Province.
The training was done in collaboration with Rwanda Agriculture Board.
The total number of inseminators in the country stands at 600.
Dr. Jean Jacques Mbonigaba, director of RAB said that every year more than 450 cows need to be inseminated in Rwanda.
"Same training will continue with the aim of improving the breeding of cattle in Rwanda.
Mbonigaba added that the move is done in the effort to provide quality services to Rwandan farmers.
Gen. Peter Bagabo from the National Demobilization Commission said the training was done within the scope of the project to strengthen their capacity and improving their social life.
Inseminators are trained from districts of Nyagatare, Gatsibo and Kayonza in the Eastern Province.
