The First Lady Jeannette Kagame is today celebrating her 54th birthday anniversary. She was born in Burundi and married President Paul Kagame on June 10th 1989, during a wedding ceremony that took place in Kampala, Uganda.
She is a mother of four; three male and one female; Ivan Cyomoro Kagame, the eldest, Ange Ingabire Kagame, Ian Kagame and Brian Kagame, the youngest.
Madam Jeannette Kagame has impacted the Rwandan community through her great role of taking care of health and livelihoods of families affected by HIV/AIDS, promoting girls’ education through ‘Imbuto Foundation’ she established and chairs.
Madam Kagame is also recognized for exemplary deeds of striving for women rights and development through a program, “Celebrating Young Rwandan Achievers Awards (CYRWA).
She has received distinct awards in different areas recognizing her role in empowering communities.
