The president of Sudan, Omar Bashir has said that he is freely traveling on the African continent without any fear of arrest as per the ICC indictment which he say has become a corrupted institution.

The International Criminal Court recently asked Rwanda to arrest president of Sudan, Omar Bashir when he comes to attend the 27th African Union summit held in Kigali from 10th to 18th July,2016. The request was rejected by the government of Rwanda saying ICC has become more politicized than delivering justice.

The court accused President Omar Bashir of genocide crimes, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur, Sudan in 2003.The court issued first arrest warrants for president Bashir on March 4th, 2009 followed by second arrest warrants of July 12th, 2010.

In an interview with CNBC Television, Bashir said ICC has become an institution of dishonor.

“Africa has its own decisions and position today following the discovery that the ICC has judges, advisers and prosecutors accused of bribery,” he said.

African Union recently released documents of one of ICC judges who received million dollars to forge evidence against president Bashir.

Bashir said African nations are cooperating to properly assess how the continent can withdraw from ICC. “For instance I am traveling freely on African continent. We have decided not to honour the ICC,” said Bashir.
