Nzabihimana Isaie, a teacher at Groupe Scolaire Rubazi in Rubengera sector, Karongi district, has been arrested by police after he was found with illicit drugs.
The police spokesperson in Western Province, CIP Theobald Kanamugire has told IGIHE that Nzabihimana was arrested on Tuesday August 23rd, 2016 with nine packs of cannabis and one liter of Kanyanga.
He explained that the teacher may have been engaged in business of selling drugs.
Nzabihimana is being held at Rubengera police station waiting for prosecution.
Article 594 of Rwanda penal code states that whoever makes, transforms, imports or sells drugs illegally commits a felony and is subject to a punishment ranging from three to five years of sentence and pay a fine ranging from Rwf 500,000 to Rwf 5,000,000.
