The Mufti of Rwanda Salim Hitimana has requested parents to follow up their children’s lives daily as a way of fighting against terrorism acts and extremism in which some of them are called to join bringing security threats to the nation and bad reputation to Islam.
He has made the remark today addressing Muslim congregants at Nyamirambo stadium to celebrate “Eid al-Adha”.
“Parents, you must follow up lives of your children every day and know what they are planning lest they get tempted to involve in terrorism. You must follow up your children’s life as Ibrahim did for his son Isaac,” he said.
Mufti Hitimana told congregants that freedom granted by the government under the leadership of president Paul Kagame should be used in building the nation other than creating insecurity. He requested Muslims to join members of other religious denominations in eradicating terrorism, develop friendships as Muhammad requires them.
He explained that Islam has no link to terrorism but people call themselves Muslims to tarnish Islamic reputation.
Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha two days after the holy pilgrim to Mecca where Muslims with adequate financial means slaughter livestock as sacrifices to feed vulnerable people as part of celebration of Eid Al Adha.
