Today the Mayor of the City of Kigali, Nyamulinda Pascal together with the Chinese Ambassador HE. Rao Hongwei visited Muhima Road to assess the progress on the expansion works of the road.
Muhima road is being expanded to dual carriage status meant to address the problem of traffic jam in the city centre-Nyabugogo road and it’s expected to be completed in June this year.
The road is part of the wider Kigali urban roads upgrading project which in total will see over 54 km of city roads either expanded or new roads constructed inclufing; Kanogo-Rwandex-Sonatube-Remera road, roads connecting Rwandex to Kimihurura, Kicukiro-Nyamirambo road and Nyacyonga-Batsinda-Kagugu road.
These new roads will help decongest city roads and will create new bypass routes to different parts of Kigali city.
