Stevenson Nzaramba the director of planning at the Ministry of Infrastructure has been definitely sacked from public service under the Prime Minister’s order N°251/03 of 16/12/2016.

Nzaramba who was arrested seven months ago along with former top managers of SONARWA is suspected of complicity in causing Rwf 191 million loss to the Ministry.

Prosecution alleges that the said Rwf191 million was released following illegal tender procedures offering SONARWA the deal of insuring MININFRA vehicles in 2013.

Prosecution says that the agreements between Sonarwa and Mininfra are null and void because the Ministry as a public institution no commission was supposed to be paid on the transaction.

The Prime Minister’s order explains that dismissing Nzaramba was based on the presidential order no 65/01 of 04/03/2014 that allows for punishment of public employees that commit offenses in the process of executing their duties.

The dismissed employee is allowed to request re-employment in public office after seven years.

Hearing of Nzaramba case in court along with co-accused will take place on 12th January 2017.
