Rwandan CEO gets his IT company incubated in Switzerland

The Federal President of Switzerland, Schneider Ammann has held a round table breakfast in Zurich with the organization in charge of promoting Financial IT startups in Switzerland, FinTech Zurich, where Muhire Louis Antoine, a Rwandan founder and CEO of MERGIMS Solutions discussed collaboration and partnerships opportunities that can be established between African Rwandan startup ecosystem and Swiss Corporation.

In his presentation Muhire showcased MERGIMS achievements and underlined that Rwanda presents opportunities that can enhance remarkable growth with some great deals already being discussed by competitive Swiss corporations whose coming to Rwanda will confirm that the country’s startup ecosystem is now in the major league.

The president of Switzerland congratulated Muhire for his innovative idea and expressed his wish to see in Swiss youth such determination and risk-taking attitude for that’s how great enterprises are born.

MERGIMS is the only startup from Africa to have been selected among 850 startups application to be incubated in the largest European Union FinTech accelerator, a program backed by major Swiss corporations such as UBS, CREDIT SWISS, PWC, EY, MIGROS or RAIFFEISEN.

This program is to helpMERGIMS get well structured, raise significant amount of investment and secure long term partnership with Swiss financial organizations.

Mergims enables Rwandan diaspora to pay airtime electricity and tuition fees for their relatives in Rwanda via a mobile app and website and is to launch a new disruptive product that will allow to instantly send money to relatives.
