The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), judging the alleged perpetrators of 1994 genocide against the Tutsi has today rendered 35 years in prison a former Minister of Planning Ngirabatware Augustin.
The accused was a Minister in the interim government during the genocide.
The Tribunal, which has yet to try cases on appeal before closing its doors in late 2014, stated Ngirabatware is "guilty of genocide, direct and public incitement to commit genocide and rape," said a journalist from AFP.
