The newly appointed Governor of the Northern Province, Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi has said that he will muster all efforts and his experience in leadership to appropriately perform his responsibilities.
Gatabazi was yesterday speaking during the handover ceremony where the outgoing Northern Province Governor, Claude Musabyimana, appointed the Ministry of Land and Forestry as Permanent Secretary, was giving him instruments of office.
“I will have no excuse because I know what to do, I will not disappoint his Excellency Paul Kagame who trusted in me and gave me such responsibilities. I will work tirelessly to serve Rwandans,” he said.
Presiding over the handover ceremony, the Minister of Local Government Francis Kaboneka tasked new governor to put in place measures to curb flooding in some parts of the province. “You are not coming to study, you know the field. I want to stress about floods from Volcanoes National Park; I would like to request you to make addressing this problem a priority.Much has been done, you should do your best to tackle the remaining problems in this Province,” Kaboneka told new governor
Musabyimana called on his successor to focus on security issues and monitoring big projects in the province.
“You should focus on sustaining the security and ensure monitoring for big projects like modernization of Musanze town and refurbishment of Ruhengeri Hospital which has been upgraded to referral status,” he said.
