Nyamasheke District will host an ICT literacy campaign to raise awareness about the importance and usage of ICTs among local residents.

The campaign will commence 20th to 21st February, 2013.

According to Catherine Gatete the vice mayor for social affairs and the ICT Director in the district said the campaign would be held at Kirambo football ground near Kibogora.

“The ground is very big and accessible; electricity is available at the place and also fiber- optic cable. In general we appreciated the place.” Gatete said.

The partners in this initiative include; MINALOC, MINEDUC, REB, RDB, MYICT, Telecom operators, Internet Services Providers, Financial Institutions (Banks and others) SMS Services Providers, mobile Value added Services, Mobile Application Developers, TV Content Producers, Government institutions utilizing ICT for public Services and many others.
