The Senate vice president, Gakuba Jeanne d’Arc has requested members of Rwanda Patritiotic Front (RPF) political party to make follow up on programs aimed at promoting development and welfare of citizens to ensure resolutions are quickly executed to attain envisaged goals.
She made the request on Saturday to RPF Female Association in Nyarugenge district.
“We are never restricted in any sector. We have responsibilities of following up government’s programs and request stakeholders to improve performance in case it is dragging or goes wrong,” said Gakuba Jeanne d’Arc.
“As an association, you have responsibilities of inviting leaders to explain about implementation of government programs related to education, security, health among others and identify gaps to be tackled. How come only 60% subscribe for Mituelle de santé while 40% is left out?. This means we are not at the same speed. You have to know that women are the eye of the nation,” she added.
Murekeyisoni Gloriose, the president RPF Female Association in Nyarugenge unveiled willingness to boost efforts in following up development activities.
“We pledge to eradicate the culture of forgery. We want to reveal the truth even though it hurts. We will be collaborating with leaders in making audits,” she said.
Teaching youth about moral values, discouraging them from doing drugs, creating awareness among women on their rights are other areas to be given priority, Murekeyisoni said.
Since July last year, the association has brought in fold over 4000 former street vendors to, now, operate their business in markets.
