President Paul Kagame yesterday received his Benin counterpart, Patrice Talon at Kanombe International Airport who is in Rwanda for a three day maiden visit.
Talon who was elected president of Benin 145 days ago, comes to Kigali after attending the Tokyo International Conference of Africa’s Development (TICAD VI) held in Nairobi Kenya which was also attended by president Kagame.
President Talon is expected to visit Rwanda Development Board and Special Economic Zone.
The historical visit is aimed at promoting bilateral relations and cooperation between Rwanda and Benin.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Benin has announced that “The visit of President Patrice Talon will be an opportunity of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.”
President Patrice Talon took power as president of Benin on 16th April 6th, 2016 replacing Thomas Boni Yayi.
