President Kagame receives UN Deputy Secretary General

President Paul Kagame has today received the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jan Eliasson at Village Urugwiro.

Jan Eliasson arrived in Rwanda for a two-day visit yesterday to hold talks with various
government officials.

Before, Eliasson met President Kagame, he held talks with Rwanda’s minister of foreign affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning,
Amb. Claver Gatete; the Minister of Disaster and Refugee Management, Seraphine
Mukantabana and the speaker of parliamentary chamber of deputies, Donatille Mukabalisa among others.

Talks between President Kagame and Jan Eliasson have been attended by Lamin Manneh, the coordinator of One UN to Rwanda along with Amb. Rugwabiza Valentine representing Rwanda to UN.

Eliasson visited Gisozi memorial yesterday where he said that 1994 genocide against Tutsi was a grave failure of UN.
