Rwandans will on March 8, join the world in celebrating the 38th International Women’s day themed “the Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum”.
In Rwanda, the theme has been adapted to the current situation:” Gender Equality that promotes family dignity.”
Tuyisenge Christine, Vice- Chairman of the Board Executive Secretary of the National Women Council, has announced that this year celebrations will be conducted in 4 phases within 4 weeks making one month reserved for Girls and women countrywide.
The first week is dedicated to Girls ‘education, the second will focus on women Economic Empowerment, the third on women and social affairs while the fourth will focus on women and Good Governance & Justice.
It is expected that Girls and women month will be launched on 8th March, 2013 in Musanze District and closed in Gasabo District.
