Rwandan Woman Producing Biofuel

Uwineza Asinata a resident of Rubavu District has said she discovered fuel made from Racinus Commonly known as "Ikibonobono" two years ago.
She told IGIHE that residents have started to cultivate racinus which they sell to her which she transforms into Biofuel.
She noted that she produces 60 liters of biofuel and one liter costs Frw3,000.
As an enterprising woman, Uwineza wants support from investors to advance to another level.

As an enterprising woman, Uwineza wants support from investors to advance to another level.

Uwineza has since managed to build her own house and bought extra land worth Frw800 000 onto which she cultivates Racinus.

The Executive Secretary of Nyamyumba Sector Bukundimana Esperence confirmed that the innovations of this woman have contributed to the socio-economic transformation in the sector.

Production of biofuel will benefit Rwanda in terms of green development and more environmentally-friendly transport.
