The president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila has this morning arrived in Rubavu district, Western Province of Rwanda where he is to meet his Rwandan Counterpart and host President Paul Kagame for talks.
The visit is meant to improve bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and DRC.
IGIHE journalist in Rubavu district has said that security in Rubavu district has been strengthened for the whole week as part of preparations of the visit where different checkups were held and detained people with no identifications among others.
Yesterday many police personnel were deployed in Rubavu town and some roads were cordoned off.
Citizens have been restricted to use the road leading to the large border in Rubavu district while only the small border is operational.
President Kabila has been welcomed by police and military personnel at the border.
