Three lucky winners namely Patient Niyibizi, Jean Pierre Usabuwera and Faustin Nkundayesu have shared over Rwf 21 in the Tigo ’Imvura y’ Amafaranga" promotion on Wednesday, August 23rd.
Niyibizi won Rwf eight million, while Usabuwera hit a jack pot of three million while Nkundayesu scooped eight million francs.
The promo meaning "rain of money" started on June 28th. Since then, many have been lucky by winning various prizes that range from Rwf 100,000 to Rwf 1m and Rwf 8m.
On the last day of the promotion, the company plans to give out Rwf 5m and 20 million to lucky winners. Over Rwf 65 million will be offered by Tigo to over 165 lucky winners.
Faustin Nkundayesu aged 28 from Kimironko, Gasabo district, has said that he was surprised to get paid as one of the lucky winners and thanked Tigo for the initiative.
Jean Pierre Usabuwera with a family of two children at Kimisagara in Kigali City also said that the Rwf 5m will help him take care of his family.
The 34 year bar attendant said that he will invest the money to expand business and plans to use the rest of the jack pot in other personal requirements.
The Tigo Chief Commercial Officer at Tigo Rwanda Ankoma Agyapong said that program is aimed at giving back to the Tigo customers as part of its social corporate responsibility.
