Three employees of Gishamvu sector, Huye district in Southern Province have been arrested by police over suspected misallocation of public property.
Arrested officials are Jean Bosco Ntakirutimana in charge of civil registration; Félicien Ndagano, the sector inspector of education and the accountant, Jacqueline Mujawamaliya.
The mayor of Huye district, Kayiranga Muzuka Eugène has confirmed that the three sector employees have been arrested in addition to the executive secretary of Gishamvu sector Emmanuel Ruti Bizimana who has been accused of government property misappropriation.
“It is true that they have been arrested today over alleged connivance in misappropriating public wealth with the sector executive secretary.They are detained at Ngoma police station,” he said.
The executive secretary of Gishamvu sector, Emmanuel Ruti Bizimana was arrested on July 21st, 2016 and appeared in court for the first time on Thursday last week.
Huye court of high instance sent Bizimana on remand for 30 days as investigations get underway.
IGIHE has learnt that other two individuals who won the tenders of executing various activities in Gishamvu sector have also been also arrested.
