Three Rwandan soldiers including 2nd Lieutenant Christian Kayitaba, 2nd-Lieutenant Steve Ingabe Karekezi and 2nd Lieutenant Christian Kamanzi have completed training in ’École Royale Militaire Belge, a Belgium-based military school.

The three Rwandans who were passed out yesterday have been undertaking a four- year course in ’École Royale Militaire Belge where they were promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and received a Masters degree.

Second Lieutenant Steve Ingabe and Christian Kayitaba received Masters in political sciences while Christian Kamanzi received Masters in Arms management.

The spokesperson of Rwanda Defense Forces, Lt.Col René Ngendahimana has told IGIHE that ’École Royale Militaire Belge cooperates with Rwanda where the latter sends officers for training.

“We have a good cooperation with the school. So far many Rwandans have studied at École Royale Militaire Belge while others are still attending courses there. It offers cadet trainings,” he said.

École Royale Militaire Belge offers conventional courses, military courses and cadet trainings.

Two Rwandans are still undertaking courses at the college. It sometimes offers military trainings to Rwanda’s senior officers.
