Two bodies have been found in Nyamabuye sector of Muhanga district where victims are suspected to have been killed by torture.

The two unidentified women are respectively aged 28 and 30 years.

The police spokesperson in Southern Province, CIP Hakizimana André has told IGIHE that the two corpses were retrieved yesterday from water canals located in Kavumu and Nyarucyanamo villages of Gahogo cell.

“Both corpses were found in water canals of two villages. We have not yet identified their names since they had no identifications,” he said.

CIP Hakizimana said basic evidence demonstrates that the two women may have been killed.

“We cannot say they have been killed in a road accident since we found one of them with a wound on jaw while the neck of the other woman was covered with a mat,” he said.
