The Workforce Development Authority (WDA) has organized a nation-wide campaign to sensitize youth about the importance of having a professionalized Art industry in Rwanda.
While addressing the press Saturday January 27, 2013 the director general of WDA Jerome Gasana said that the Art industry is a sector that can speed up economic development and society transformation.
This campaign is based on the partnership established between WDA and the Rwanda Arts Initiative (RAI), leading to joint and coordinated efforts to develop and professionalize skills within the art industry through technical and vocational training.
A statement of WDA said from January 27th to 31st, WDA and RAI will cover the four provinces and Kigali city where ideas will be consolidated on 30th, January to see how Rwanda’s art industry moves towards a comprehensive and articulated education system that leads to targeted and strategic skills development through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system as well as hands on skills exposure.
Due to the fact that some talents remain un noticed, there is need to support the youth who strive to show what they can.
Awareness on art industry has been identified as dynamic and innovative sectors to diversify economy and achieve socio-economic welfare.
