Western Province recognized for surpassing revenue targets

Western Province has been recognized for surpassing the targeted tax revenues in the year 2016/2017 by earning Rwf21.4 billion way above the targeted Rwf17.9 billion.

Western Province has been recognized for surpassing the targeted tax revenues in the year 2016/2017 by earning Rwf21.4 billion way above the targeted Rwf17.9 billion.

All best taxpayers were recognized on Wednesday during the 2017 Taxpayers’ Appreciation Day that took place in Rubavu.

Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and the Finance Ministry recognized taxpayers by providing them with awards and asked them to continue to support national development through tax compliance.

RRA commissioner general Richard Tusabe thanked taxpayers in Western Province for being compliant.

Finance Minister, Claver Gatete also thanked taxpayers for changing their mindsets towards tax payment.

“Taxpayers have really become more compliant and this will positively impact national development through improved infrastructures and other big projects. These are good result from your taxes,” he said.

Western Province Governor, Alphonse Munyentwali called upon continued compliance and contribution towards nation building.

“These achievements were gained because of concerted citizen participation,” he said, adding that they will continue mobilizing more people to understand the role of taxes in national development.
