Woman killed by a crocodile at Nyabarongo

A 54, year old woman died after a crocodile killed her at 6:30 on Sunday as she fetched water from Nyabarongo River.
The deceased is identified as Sperata Nyirampakaniye, a resident of Mageragere Sector, Kavuma Cell, Nyarugenge District.
The Mayor of Nyarugenge District, Kayisime Nzaramba, told IGIHE that the tragedy s occurred during a period when the district is trying to make clean water available in that area which is inhabited by residents who still use water from the river infested (...)

A 54, year old woman died after a crocodile killed her at 6:30 on Sunday as she fetched water from Nyabarongo River.

The deceased is identified as Sperata Nyirampakaniye, a resident of Mageragere Sector, Kavuma Cell, Nyarugenge District.

The Mayor of Nyarugenge District, Kayisime Nzaramba, told IGIHE that the tragedy s occurred during a period when the district is trying to make clean water available in that area which is inhabited by residents who still use water from the river infested by many crocodiles.

Nzaramba said, “Generally, as far as Mageragere is concerned, we are trying to make sure we avail clean water to the entire area before the end of this year; Nyarufunzo has water, in Kavumu where the late was residing, drilling of wells will start this Tuesday 25th July 2017.”
