Former Rayon Sports striker Davis Kasirye and APR FC player Jean Claude Iranzi have completed the transfer to Zambia’s Premier League side, Zesco United.
Kasirye and Iranzi were officially unveiled in Lusaka at the Trade Fair Ground on Tuesday. The circumstances under which Kasirye left Darling Motema Pembe were said to be the breach of his employment contract where today he is still owed salaries and wages.
Zesco United Media and Public Relations Officer Katebe Chengo told Supersport that the players were brought in as replacements for players who had left or were about to leave the club.
“We have Davis Kasirye as a striker from Darling Clube Motema Pembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo but he is Ugandan. We all know that one of our strikers, Idris Mbombo, left for Saudi Arabia.
“We also have Jean Claude Iranzi, he is Rwandese and has joined us from Slovakia. He is a left winger who will replace Tanzanian Luizio Juma who is expected to make a permanent move to Simba SC.
The club also signed two other players from neighboring Burundi.
“The other two are from Burundi. They are yet to arrive but the good news is that their registration has already been done and we have their International Transfer Certificates,” Chengo said.
Chengo stated that of the new arrivals only Davis Kasirye had started regular training and might make his debut in the Week 9 rescheduled match away to Lumwana Radiants on Wednesday.
Signed from Rayon to Motema Pembe on a two-year contract deal, the Ugandan striker guided Rayon to the Peace Cup in 2016 and went on to score 13 league goals that season, after 14 years.
He has previously played at Express, URA, and BUL in the Uganda Premier League.
