As Rayon Sports FC management continues to remain in the woods on the issue of who should be the new head coach, Hamad Katauti Ndikumana has taken on as the acting coach.

The former defender took charge of the Rayon’s first training session that kicked-off on Tuesday at Mumena Stadium, as he put the players through their paces and drills for the first time since lifting the clubs 8th league trophy last season.

Last week, Rayon announced that former APR FC and Amavubi captain Olivier Karekezi as the new club head coach, though after three days, the club took a U-turn and denounced the decision claiming the Swedish based coach was not appointed through a proper club statute.

The club is preparing for a friendly game with Tanzania ‘side Simba FC for a pre-season match.

During training, Katauti who was joined by Ramadhan Nkunzigoma and Marcel Lomami asked the players to keep time, to maintain team spirit and respect during the training besides to work hard to make the fans happy.

Kevin Muhire and Thierry Manzi missed the training since the pair is featuring in the national team, but Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye was present. FistonMunezero plus Mustapha Nsengiyumva were not present because they joined Police FC, while Dominique SavioNshuti was signed by AS Kigali.

Oddly, Katuati appeared animated with the players as the session came to a close, meanwhile management is said to meet in the coming days to decide whether former APR FC and Amavubi captain should take over as the head coach to replace DjumaMasoudi who surprisingly threw in the towel after leading the club to the league title.
