Danny Usengimana grabbed a brace as Police beat Bugesera 2-1 on day two of Azam national football league played at Kicukiro stadium on Saturday.
The law enforcers, who had a low start of the opening league, secured the first goal in the eleventh minute of the first half when Usengimana utilised Muhamed Mushimiyimana pass.
Bugesera equalised later in the first half through a penalty after defender Fabrice Twagizimana fouled a player inside the box to make it 1-1 before the break.
The law enforcers squandered several chances in both halves but Usengimana wasted no chance 15 minutes into the second half to bring Innocent Seninga’s side back into the lead and to hold on it to the final whistle.
Seninga’s tactical changes paid off as he opted to sit-out the likes of Songa Isaie, Eric Ngendahimana and Celestin Ndayishimiye, who were introduced later into the game.
“We had many mistakes in our first match, which we had to collect as we came into our next game, which paid off,” coach Seninga said.
