The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has cleared 19 generals for retirement.
The 19 today be awarded certificates for their contribution to the UPDF and the country at large at State House, Entebbe.

President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, will preside over the function and later host the retired generals to dinner.

Some of the generals on the list include the UPDF representative in Parliament, Gen. Ivan Koreta and Gen. Joram Mugume.

Sources say that although they applied for retirement, Gen. David Sejusa aka Tinyefunza, the former coordinator of intelligence services and Gen. Kale Kayihura, the former Inspector General of Police, are not among the retiring generals.
