Suspected DASSO officer murderer shot dead as he escaped

A suspected of killing Denis Nshimiyimana, an officer with District Administration Security Support Organ (DASSO) in Cyinzuzi Sector in Rulindo district has been shot dead trying to escape from custody.

The suspect was shot on 22nd July 2019.

The body of Nshimiyimana was seen on 18th July 2019 by children collecting firewoods in the forest of the area known as Jebeka.

His body was found with injuries on the head.

The mayor of Rulindo district, Emmanuel Kayiranga has confirmed to IGIHE that the suspect has died.

“The information is true. More details can be provided by police,” he said.

He explained that security officials launched investigations following the murder which led to the arrest of two people suspected of conspiracy in Nshimiyimana’s death.

“We didn’t immediately learn about the cause of his death but two people were later arrested and pleaded guilty. They were still under investigation,” said mayor Kayiranga.

He lauded residents who tipped off officials during investigations to arrest suspects.
The man shot dead along with his co-accused were detained at Cyinzuzi station.

The body of Nshimiyimana was seen by children collecting firewoods in the forest of the area known as Jebeka.
