The rewards included shopping vouchers worth Rwf20,000 each and rainwear, with the company recognising riders who frequently used its services while complying with its operating procedures.

Among those recognised, 67 riders received awards on Friday for their performance in September. The selection focused on the number of battery swaps completed, with the top-performing rider recording 150 swaps.

Spiro Rwanda Customer Experience Manager Alex Niyonsenga urged riders to maintain honest practices and seek clarification directly from the company whenever they have concerns about its services.

He cautioned against relying on information from unofficial sources, including fellow riders, saying this could lead to misunderstandings.

“We encourage motorcycle taxi riders to bring their concerns directly to us so that we can address them. The most reliable information comes directly from Spiro. They should not rely on information from every source, including fellow riders and other parties,” he appealed.

Mushinzimana Fabien, one of the riders who received an award, encouraged his colleagues to follow the proper procedures when swapping batteries, warning against fraudulent practices that could undermine their performance.

“What I would advise my fellow riders is to go to the stations and carry out battery swaps honestly, without any fraudulent practices, so that they can also achieve similar results,” he said.

Mushinzimana thanked Spiro for recognising the riders' efforts, saying the rewards would be useful in their daily work. He pledged to maintain his performance and continue using the company's services honestly.

Annet Dengeri, Senior Human Resources Officer at Spiro Rwanda, said the recognition reflected the company's emphasis on customer care, which she described as one of its core values.

“Beyond Customer Service Week, customer care is one of Spiro's core values. That is why you have seen us rewarding customers over the past few days. We recognise those who perform well, particularly those who complete the highest number of battery swaps, while complying with the rules,” she remarked.

Dengeri urged riders to ensure all battery swaps were conducted transparently and recorded in the company's system. She added that riders seeking to increase their number of swaps should follow authorised procedures.

The rewards were distributed throughout Customer Service Week, with Spiro representatives visiting motorcycle taxi riders at different locations along the roads to present shopping vouchers.

On October 9, 2026, the company also held award presentations at Mega Station Kimironko and Mega Station Kicukiro Centre, where riders received rainwear.

The initiative was part of Spiro's efforts to recognise customers who use its services regularly and responsibly while encouraging compliance with its operating procedures.

Moto taxi riders recognised by Spiro Rwanda for their good performance expressed appreciation for the rainwear, saying it would support their work during rainy weather.
