Patrick Nkurunziza’s life took a tragic turn when he was still a secondary school student. He was abducted by FDLR terrorist group and taken into the forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he was forced into a life of violence, carrying ammunition, supporting armed operations and participating in looting of civilians.
