Congolese singer, Nembalemba Junior, known for stage name as ’Majoos’ recently visited Kigali, the capital of Rwanda where this serendipitous encounter ignited his enthusiasm for exciting collaborations with Rwandan artists.

Majoos, a luminary figure in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’s music landscape, specializes in contemporary Lumba-style music. His musical odyssey commenced at the tender age of eight when he joined forces with his cousins in the musical group "Nembalemba Five," achieving resounding success in Lubumbashi.

From those early days with the group, Majoos continued to explore his passion for music, culminating in a solo career in 2011. Today, he not only graces the stage as a singer but also dabbles as a prolific producer, a gifted songwriter, and an influential fashion icon.

Despite his brief sojourn in Rwanda, Majoos couldn’t help but express his astonishment at the immaculate beauty and lush greenery of Kigali.

"I’ve never had the privilege of spending much time in Kigali, but its pristine beauty and cleanliness have left an indelible impression on me. The warmth and cheerfulness of its people are truly remarkable. During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting some local artists, including Moses, the visionary behind Moshions. Regrettably, my stay was brief, but I’m determined to return," he mused.

Reflecting on his prior unfamiliarity with Rwandan music, Majoos candidly admitted, "Honestly, I hadn’t been closely following Rwandan music, but I chanced upon some tracks, like those by Mistaek, and found them to be exceptionally beautiful. This piqued my curiosity, inspiring me to delve deeper into the world of Rwandan music. I’m currently working on an extended play [EP], and I’m confident that Rwanda will play a significant role in it."

Majoos eagerly anticipates his return to Rwanda to film music videos, recognizing the city’s stunning locales and verdant landscapes as perfect backdrops for his artistic vision.

Moreover, he places a strong emphasis on his desire to collaborate with Rwandan artists, emphasizing that art extends beyond just music and encompasses the world of fashion. Currently, Majoos is in collaboration with Moses, an established luminary in the Rwandan fashion industry.

Majoos is a celebrated artiste in the DRC, renowned for his collaborations with international luminaries such as Koffi Olomide in the chart-topping "Ndoto," Ferré Gola in "Obomi Nga," and "Déception," featuring Mbiliya Bel, among others.

His stellar talents were also acknowledged with an esteemed award at Afrima 2021, solidifying his status as a true musical trailblazer.
