World Youth Skills Day is celebrated on 14th July every year.
Under the Mastercard Foundation’s COVID-19 Recovery and Resilience Programme, young entrepreneurs will be selected to join the Business Survival Bootcamp and gain skills on scenario planning, organisational risk assessment and cash flow forecasting. Additionally, participants who join the more intensive Survive to Thrive programme will learn how they can track and monitor their business finances using AMI tools and online resources. By the end of programmes, the participants will be able to strengthen their businesses by reducing expenses while increasing revenues, and identifying new opportunities.
“This partnership will equip young entrepreneurs with skills to keep their businesses operating and introduce them to useful tools to manage their finances. We look forward to working with young Rwandans on this journey and I encourage them to visit our website and apply for one of AMI’s programmes that best suits their business goals," said Malik Shaffy, AMI’s Rwanda Country Director.
Pacifique Uwineza, Executive Director at Rwanda Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs shared how their members will benefit from the partnership:
"We are excited to celebrate World Youth Skills Day by working with the Africa Management Institute to help young entrepreneurs leverage world-class business training to cope with the disruptions brought about by the pandemic. It will also create a common platform for knowledge sharing among startups led by young business leaders. This partnership has come at the right time where many businesses need access to tools and resources to revamp their business plans if they are to achieve growth. We are confident this strategic partnership will enhance our member’s ventures, growth prospects and create jobs."
African Management Institute programmes are fully covered and are designed to help businesses deal with the challenges brought by the pandemic.
