COVID-19: Six more deaths, 496 new cases

The Ministry of Health has reported that six people succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday bringing the death toll to 1089. The deceased include five women and one man.

The statement released last night shows that 496 people have caught the virus out of 14 241 sample tests, four recovered while 32 are critically ill.

A total of 660,402 people have been fully vaccinated while 1,513,881 received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
