Ingabire resigns as Chairperson of Karongi District’s advisory council

Karongi District in Western Province has accepted the resignation of Dominique Ingabire who has been serving as the district’s advisory council chairperson for one year.

Her resignation was reported over the last weekend and accepted after a meeting convened by the district’s advisory council on Tuesday 20th December 2022.

Ingabire who serves as the coordinator of the National Women’s Council in Karongi District and Principal of IPRC Karongi has said that she will continue to be member of the advisory council.

“My resignation has been accepted but I will continue to serve as a member of the advisory council because I am still designated as the coordinator of the National Women’s Council. I will stay closer to the council as usual,” she said.

“I have submitted my resignation to secure enough time to discharge other duties diligently without affecting the credibility of the advisory council,” added Ingabire.

It is expected that the vice chairman, Vedaste Ngarambe will serve as the acting chairman of Karongi District’s advisory council until a successor is designated.

Ingabire had been elected as the chairperson of the advisory council in November last year for a five-year term.

Ingabire has resigned as the Chairperson of Karongi District advisory council.
