This delegation arrived in Rwanda after their visit to Israel, where they sought to gain a deeper understanding of the trilateral relationships involving the United States, Israel, and Rwanda. Led by Representative Lucy McBath, they were hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) along with their educational arm, the Art in Embassies Program (AIEP).
Founded in 1971, the CBC has remained steadfast in its commitment to leveraging constitutional authority, statutory resources, and financial means to ensure that African Americans and other marginalized communities in the United States can pursue their aspirations.
Despite primarily comprising members of the Democratic Party, the caucus was initially conceived as a non-partisan entity. As a result, the CBC has a rich history of bipartisan cooperation, including members from both the Democratic and Republican parties. The Caucus is currently chaired by Congressman Steven Horsford.
