The incident happened in the evening of Wednesday 9th November 2022.
The Executive Secretary of Ndego Sector, Claude Bizimana has told IGIHE that the cows were struck dead as it drizzled.
“Lightning has struck dead seven cows. The next course of action is to bury them,” said Bizimana.
He appealed to farmers to take advantage of livestock insurance which the government has subsidized to prevent similar losses.
“The affected resident has no livestock insurance. We call upon farmers to get livestock insurance because calamities do not send a warning,” he said.
Similar incident recently happened in Eastern Province where lightning struck dead 12 cows at different times.
