The roads are constructed under the framework to upgrade infrastructure and beautiful the secondary city.
Musanze district vice mayor for economic affairs, Rucyahanampuwe Andrew has said that construction activities are underway and expected to be completed this year.
“We are building 6.4 kilometer roads in town of which progress stands at 80%. We have allocated Rwf 5,584,371,170 for construction of the aforementioned roads expected to be completed in May 2021. Apart from Musanze town, we are also building 15.4 kilometer roads in Kinigi to be completed at a cost of Rwf6, 165,694,128 in September 2021,” he revealed.
Musanze residents have expressed delight for the development expected to transform their wellbeing and make them smart residents.
“We had a very poor road leading to Kinigi but we are progressing with the coming of the tarmac road. We are renovating and building beautiful houses that we no longer consider moving to other areas seeking development because we have adequate infrastructure facilitating smooth economic growth. We thank in no smaller part the Government which oversees our interests and makes available needed infrastructure across the country,” Habineza Joseph.
The roads under construction are funded by Musanze district and partners including the World Bank and the Ministry of Infrastructure.
