Over 4 million receive first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rwanda

The Ministry of Health has reported that 4,049,590 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 2,098,625 are fully vaccinated since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2020.

Among others, the statement released last night shows that 55 people have caught the virus out of 7373 sample tests bringing the number of positive cases confirmed within seven days to 306.

The death toll remains at 1332 after the country recorded zero deaths yesterday.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.

Over 4 million have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rwanda.
