The donation, valued at Rwf4 million, includes one Tri-motorcycle equipped with farm gear, boots, a helmet, and driving license exam fees for one adult. Additionally, five bicycles were provided to five families within the community.

Kibenga survivor’s community is situated in a rural and remote area in Bugesera District, where opportunities for generating revenue from agri-pastoral activities are limited. However, addressing the logistical challenges of transporting goods from crops to marketplaces could create significant opportunities for the community and its municipality.

In light of this, Premier Bet Rwanda and Rotary Club Kigali Gasabo have committed to providing a tricycle motorbike with a one-ton cargo capacity, along with necessary farming gears and driving license exam fees for one adult. Furthermore, five bicycles will be distributed among the identified families.

This support is expected to help the community generate an estimated monthly income of Rwf1.2 million. Notably, the donation will not only benefit the five directly supported families but also neighboring farmers who face similar logistical challenges, as stated in a joint statement by the concerned parties.

Through renting out the vehicle, the community will enhance its overall well-being and promote economic growth. The collaborative efforts of Premier Bet Rwanda and Rotary Club Kigali Gasabo aim to enhance the social and economic resilience of the Kibenga survivor’s community.

The provision of a transformative tool for agri-pastoral activities, specifically the transportation of crops and small livestock products to marketplaces, will create job opportunities and increase farming productivity. Moreover, the support is expected to improve access to markets and income-generating activities, particularly for women, youth, and vulnerable individuals within the community.

Beyond job creation and increased transport of farm products, the initiative seeks to improve work conditions, access to finance, skilled labor, and markets. Ultimately, these efforts will enhance community well-being and enable residents to effectively meet their basic needs.
