Rwanda confirms one more COVID-19 death, 86 new cases

The Ministry of Health has reported that one person succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday bringing the death toll to 1312. The deceased is a woman aged 85 from Gakenke district.

The statement released last night shows that 86 people have caught the virus out of 7714 sample tests, one recovered while four are critically ill.

A total of 1,707,418 people have been fully vaccinated while 2,738,816 received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
