Rwanda records 14 more COVID-19 deaths, 815 recoveries

The Ministry of Health has reported that 14 people have succumbed to COVID-19 bringing the death toll to 718. The deceased include six women and eight men from Kigali City, Muhanga, Musanze, Nyamagabe, Rubavu and Rusizi districts.

The statement released last night shows that 953 people have caught the virus while 815 recovered.

Rwanda confirmed the first Coronavirus patient on 14th March 2020. Since then, 62 328 people have been tested positive of whom 44 739 recovered, 16 871 are active cases, 71 are critically ill while 718 have succumbed to the virus.

A total of 423,182 people have been vaccinated since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation programme on 5th March 2021.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
