Rwanda records 483 new COVID-19 cases, six deaths

The Ministry of Health has reported that 483 people caught COVID-19 yesterday out of 12 131 sample tests while six succumbed to the virus. The deceased include one woman and five men.

The statement released last night shows that the positivity rate stands at 3.9%, 16 patients have been admitted at COVID-19 treatment centers while others are attended to under home based care.

Among others, four patients have recovered while 13 are critically ill.

A total of 920,197 people have been fully vaccinated while 1,666,457 received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
