Rwanda records one more COVID-19 death, 101 recoveries

The Ministry of Health has reported that one person has succumbed to COVID-19 bringing the death toll to 284. The deceased is a 62-year old man from Kigali.

Among others, 71 people have caught the virus, 101 recovered while 7 are critically ill.

The statement released last night shows that 2046 people were vaccinated yesterday bringing the total number to 323,744 since Rwanda kicked off countrywide inoculation program.

Rwanda confirmed the first COVID-19 case on 14th March 2020. Since then, 20551 people have been tested positive out of 1,077,055 sample tests of whom 19007 have recovered, 1260 are active cases while 284 have succumbed to the virus.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
