Rwanda records one more COVID-19 death, 102 recoveries

The Ministry of Health has reported that one person has succumbed to COVID-19 bringing the death toll to 283. The deceased is an old woman aged 87 who passed away in Kigali.

The statement released last night also shows that 62 people have caught the virus, 102 have recovered while 9 are critically ill.

Among others, 3990 people were vaccinated yesterday bringing the total number to 321,698 since Rwanda began countrywide vaccination program on 5th March 2021.

Rwanda confirmed the first Coronavirus case on 14th March 2020. Since then, 20480 people have been tested positive out of 1,073,824 sample tests of whom 18906 have recovered, 1291 are active cases while 283 have succumbed to the virus.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
